Part of Nehal Desai's ongoing practice informed by seventeenth-century Rajasthani miniature traditions — expansive pictorial landscapes with surreal proportions, evoking mysticism and multidimensionality within the confines of a two-dimensional plane. Each work begins as a release and surrender to universal instinct, and returns to deliberate, mindful control through persistent, meditative detailing.
